Valens: J.T. Simms? J.T.: What did I do? Valens: You tell us about the murders at that chicken ribs place last year. J.T.: Don't remember nothing about it. Vera: You sure? Cuz if my boys saw me almost getting bitchslapped by an old woman, I know I'd remember.
Deborah: Danny wasn't cruel. The world was.
Scotty: (to Deborah) Did you kill him? Because that would solve our case.
Will: I'm telling you, I hit a dog! Det. Rush: Well that dog had Paige Pratt's DNA.
Nick Vera: Rush, your boyfriend's downstairs. Lilly Rush: I'm single. You sure it's not your boyfriend?
Cindy: [about her abusive husband] And you tell yourself that it was just a shove really. He didn't mean it, he loves me, so you stay. Nancy: We all stayed. Cindy: Until one day you realize the door you could've walked out a long time ago is nailed shut forever.
Scotty Valens: Did your dad follow up with this guy? Daniel: Not that I heard about. Nick Vera: If I spent five years in a box getting tortured while some guy is taking my wife to dinner... Scotty Valens: I'd follow up.
Tom Stillman: Do you think someone who had a nervous breakdown after four months at Fort Hood could survive five years in the Hanoi Hilton?
Lilly Rush: From 1983. Nick Vera: An '83 case can wait. Come on, Lilly. Lilly Rush: No, it can't. It's waited long enough.
"So you want to do me, huh?" "Not sure. Twirl around once." Lilly and Henry in The Hitchhiker
Rick: 1200 pound horse shattered my pelvis in '92. You got something to say, say it. Vera: I hope the horse was OK.
Kat: Sign me up. Nick: Can you catch? Kat: Hell, yeah. I can catch. Nick: You throw like a girl? Kat: You dance like a white guy?
Vera: Rita was on the cover of almost 30 pin-up magazines. Kat: (motioning towards the magazines that Vera just brought in) Those from here? Vera: (looking around at everyone) Research.
Stillman: I love the smell of toxic waste in the morning.
Larry: Don't know why they let you people in this country. Ray: I was born here. Larry: Uh huh, but you got cousins in the old country fighting for the Emperor. Ray: Sholtz, is that German? Your cousin fighting for Hitler?
Billy: (arriving at the internment camp) How long are we gonna be here for? Ray: Not too long. It's for our own protection. Billy: Then why are the guns pointed at us?
Lilly: A little tough to kill yourself when you're already dead.
Vera: This man said he was with the FBI? Elmer Gibbins: Of course he didn't say it. He was an undercover agent, not a moron! (to Kat) Is this guy new? Kat: (deadpan) Total rookie.
Vera: (after interviewing Elmer Gibbins) Is the boss punishing us for something? Kat: Told ya not to steal his paper clips.
Lilly: It's tough, losing someone close. I'm certain wherever she is... she's glad you came. Spencer: Don't be too sure. Lilly: When my husband... Sometimes I feel responsible, you know? Spencer: You like older men, detective? 'Cause your husband died in 1942. (Lilly glances the headstone in front of which she's standing. It says, "Richard Edwards, 1877–1942".)
