One who forsakes truth earns eternal damnation. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

One who cannot benefit by patience will die in grief. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

O son of Adam, if you have collected anything in excess of your actual need, you will act only as its trustee for someone else to use it. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)


Hearts have the tendency of likes and dislikes and are liable to be energetic and lethargic, therefore, make them work when they are energetic because if hearts are forced (to do a thing) they will be blinded. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

One who takes account of his shortcomings will always gain by it; one who is unmindful of them will always suffer. One who is afraid of the Day of Judgment, is safe from the Wrath of Allah. One who takes lessons from the events of life, gets vision, one who acquires vision becomes wise and one who attains wisdom achieves knowledge. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Bear sorrows and calamities patiently, otherwise you will never be happy. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Adversities often bring good qualities to the front. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

If a friend envies you, then he is not a true friend. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Avarice dulls the faculties of judgment and wisdom. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Oppression and tyranny are the worse companions for the Hereafter. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

The best deed of a great man is to forgive and forget. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

A greedy man will always find himself in the shackles of humility. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Silence will create respect and dignity; justice and fairplay will bring more friends; benevolence and charity will enhance prestige and position; courtesy will draw benevolence; service of mankind will secure leadership and good words will overcome powerful enemies. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Amirul Mo’minin ‘Ali ibne Abi Talib (peace be upon him) has said: “The house in which the Qur’an is recited and Allah, The Noble and Grand, is remembered will receive numerous Divine blessings (barakah), the Angels will be present, and the Satans will be distanced from there. In addition, that house will shimmer for the people of the sky, just like the stars shimmer for the people on the Earth.” Usulul Kafi, Volume 2, Page 610

Muhammad (S.A.W.): A man giving in alms one piece of silver in his lifetime is better for him than giving one hundred when about to die. (A Brief History of the Fourteen Infallibles)

The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: “Do not look at the minuteness of the sin, but see Whom you have sinned against.” Bihar-ul-Anwar, vol. 77, p. 79 & Mustadrak Al-Wasa’il, vol. 11, p. 330

The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: “Man is influenced by the faith of his friends. Therefore, be careful of whom you associate with.” Bihar-ul-Anwar, vol. 74, p. 192

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “My most beloved brother is he who (makes me aware of) my faults.” Bihar-ul-Anwar, vol. 74, p. 282

The seventh Imam, Musa-ibn-Ja`far (a.s) said: “The likeness of this world is as the water of the sea. However much (water) a thirsty person drinks from it, his thirst increases so much so that the water kills him.” Bihar-ul-Anwar, vol. 78, p. 311

Imam Hadi, the tenth Imam, (a.s) said: “People are respected in this world for possessing wealth and in the Hereafter for possessing righteous deeds.” Bihar-ul-Anwar, vol. 78, p. 368
