Daily Hadith of Masumeen (a.s.) #2


The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: “The pleasure of Allah lies in the pleasure of one’s parents (in the case that it is right), and His wrath lies in their wrath.” Mustadrak-ul-Wasa’il-ush-Shi`ah, vol. 15, p. 176

Imam Mehdi (atfs) said: If you ask for guidance, you shall have it; and if you pursue something, you shall find it. (Bihar al-Anwar Ch.51, P.339)

The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said: "At the (appointed) time of every prayer (salat), I hear a caller who calls and says:` O children of Adam! keep up prayers in order to extinguish the fire you have lit against yourselves (by committing sins).” Mustadrak-ul-Wasa’il, vol. 3, p. 102

Imam Muhammad ibne ‘Ali al-Baqir (peace be upon him) has said: “Surely the Book of Allah is the most truthful of all narrations, and the best of all stories, and Allah has said: (And when the Qur’an is being recited, then listen to it and remain silent so that perhaps mercy may be shown to you.)” [Suratul A’raf (7), Verse 204] Usulul Kafi, Volume 3, Page 422

Imam as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) has said: “Goodness towards the parents is an indication of a person’s excellent cognizance of Allah. This is because there is no worship that can take a person towards the happiness of Allah faster than exhibiting respect towards his Muslim parents for the sake of Allah.” Biharul Anwar, Volume 74, pg.77

Imam as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) has said (in regards to one’s parents): “Do not cast your gaze upon them except with love and compassion; do not raise your voice above theirs; do not raise your hands above theirs; do not walk ahead of them.” Biharul Anwar, Volume 74, Page 79

Submission to Allah's Will is the best companion; wisdom is the noblest heritage; theoretical and practical knowledge are the best signs of distinction; deep thinking will present the clearest picture of every problem. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Live amongst people in such a manner that if you die they weep over you and if you are alive they crave for your company. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

If you overpower your enemy, then pardon him by way of thankfulness to Allah, for being able to subdue him. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Unfortunate is he who cannot gain a few sincere friends during his life and more unfortunate is the one who has gained them and then lost them (through his deeds). Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

He who is deserted by friends and relatives will often find help and sympathy from strangers. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Our affairs are attached to the destiny decreed by Allah, even our best plans may lead us to destruction. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

One who rushes madly after inordinate desire, runs the risk of encountering destruction and death. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Overlook and forgive the weaknesses of the generous people because if they fall down, Allah will help them. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Failures are often the results of timidity and fears; disappointments are the results of bashfulness; hours of leisure pass away like summer-clouds, therefore, do not waste opportunity of doing good. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

If someone's deeds lower his position, his pedigree cannot elevate it. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

To render relief to the distressed and to help the oppressed make amends for great sins. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

O son of Adam, when you see that your Lord, the Glorified, bestows His Favors on you while you disobey Him, you should fear Him (take warning that His Wrath may not turn those very blessings into misfortunes). Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

Often your utterances and expressions of your face leak out the secrets of your hidden thoughts. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)

When you get ill do not get nervous about it and try as much as possible to be hopeful. Nahjul Balagha - Imam Ali (a.s.)
